Ko Nadine tōku ingoa!
I’m a social media lovin' creator & business mentor/coach for women in business who are wanting to honour their cycle and body in the process!
I love music, fishing, anything bush or ocean related is my happy place and any moment a good jam comes on, you can bet ya bottom dollar I'm in there with the dance moves!
Originally from Kawhia, I grew up in Te Aroha and have moved around a bit, but back in my home town currently!
What do you love doing in your spare time?
I love fishing! Clearly I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but for 1 year I was a pescatarian (seafood allowed). I grew up fishing with my dad who taught me everything there was to know from making tackle, spooling reels (putting the string on the rod 😅) and filleting fish! Fun fact: after he passed in 2013, I didn't fish for almost 5 years because I didn't trust being on a boat with anyone 🤣 until this year!
How do you start your mornings? What’s your go to breakfast?
Tbh, my mornings change a lot BUT I will always try to journal, move my body & get some mindfood in!
My go to breakfast is Scrambled eggs with cheese and sweet chilli sauce (game changer!) and toast with a decaf coffee & mushroom powder elixir!
What does self-care look like for you and do you think it’s important?
To me, self-care is listening to my body, my cycle and my energy. As I write this, I'm working off 3 hours sleep (due to my elbow aching, I have a bit of a boo-boo atm) and so days where I don't sleep well are days I listen to my body even MORE.
ITS 100% top priority, but I know it isn't always the case in reality. We all lead busy lives, and if you're feeling guilty that you're not putting yourself first or giving yourself enough self-care time, just remember, 1% improvement is better than 0% improvement. Whether it's taking a break outside or remembering to drink more water, it all counts! Celebrate the baby steps you take!
What’s your favourite way to move?
It used to be CrossFit. I did it for 4 years but stopped December 2021. Now I'm trying to get into longer distance running (I used to run Ultra Marathons) and I'm looking at entering a triathlon next year! I hate swimming and biking but what a way to push yourself out of ya comfort zone - right?!
But oh, my all time fave way to move is daaaaancing! Im the girl that dances with myself in the mirror in the morning cos I'm THAT cool 😅
What keeps you ryzn?
My Mum & Dad. I don't speak about my dad as often anymore (he passed in 2013) but everything I do I do for them. And my nephews and nieces. I want them to know that no matter what happens, you can rise through anything!
If you could give your younger self or anyone else a piece of advice, what would it be?
Oh sheit. Can I say sheit? 😅 I would say to my younger self:
"One day you're going to realise how freaking talented and gifted you are. You're going to change a lot of people's lives, write a lot of books, talk alot and people are going to try and dull your shine in the process and say that you're too much...dont listen to any of them! Do everything that lights you TF up, that brings your satisfaction and let go of anything that frustrates you or makes you feel anything less than what you truly are. Because you're here for BIG things little one...and oh, dw about your size or your weight or what you look like...cos those who truly see you, won't even notice the surface level BS, they'll see straight into your soul, your heart and your core! They're the ones who matter!"
Thank you so much and appreciate all of you.
