We all want to start the year off right. But we don't always know the best way to do that, especially when it comes to our health.
Here are three top tips to help you stay on track with your health goals this year.
- Don't do it alone; starting goals with others is always easier. Find a buddy and set goals together. This way you can keep each accountable and stay on track together.
- Join a community or sign up with a trainer/someone to help you! Thousands of people out there want you to succeed.
- Do it for a better reason than just "I want to look like this" and "I want to get back at X" and "I want to have a flat tummy". Hate to break it to you, but those aren't goals. And, these reasons probably haven’t worked so well for you in the past. Don't try to use them again and think they'll work the next time. If you really want to get healthy this year, you need a better reason than just something aesthetic. Do it because you want to keep up with your kids, or because you want to finally have a go at that half marathon that your friend keeps asking you to do with them!
Set goals you know you can reach. Not ones that you know you'll be forever chasing.
And of course, take action. Nothing changes unless you do. That first change is you taking the first step.
